Education for the rural poor in Australia

This Sunday on Songs of Hope at 8:40am hear the story of Mary MacKillop. She was an Australian nun who founded a congregation of religious sisters that established a number of schools and welfare institutions throughout Australia. Her emphasis was education for the rural poor.

He solved the riddle of leprosy

The feature on Songs of Hope this Sunday 11 October will be the story of Paul Brand, the Christian doctor who solved the riddle of leprosy. The story will be at 8:40am. The photo at right is of a Filipino boy with leprosy today.

A struggle with depression

The talk this Sunday on Songs of Hope will be by Pastor Ian Mitchell (photo at right) of Eastleigh Community Church here in the southern suburbs of Melbourne. He talks about Elijah in the Bible and Elijah's struggle with depression. Time to air will be 7:30am this Sunday 12 July 2015 during the Songs of Hope program.

Another feature of the program will be a short feature on the influence of Oaktree Anglican church in Caulfield. This church was instrumental in forming the largest church in the world! This feature will air at 8:45am
