PRAYERS SOUGHT FOR QATAR

New Life reports that Christians in Qatar are requesting prayers for the diplomatic crisis their country is in. A growing number of other Arab countries have cut all ties with Qatar. The future for Qatar and its hundreds of thousands of migrant workers – tens of thousands of those being Christian believers – is unclear.

UK MP STEPS DOWN

According to Eternity Magazine, the leader of Britain’s Liberal Democrats, a centrist political party, says he is stepping down because the tension between his strong evangelical Christian faith and politics has become too great. Tim Farron, re-elected at this year’s election as one of only eight Liberal Democrats to be returned, says he is resigning to remain “faithful to Christ”.

MATT MAHER TO VISIT AUSTRALIA

Matt Maher is arguably the biggest Catholic name in global contemporary Christian music and the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference is delighted to announce he will be coming to Sydney for the Australian Catholic Youth Festival from 7-9 December this year. The internationally acclaimed Canadian songwriter and worship leader is heading to Australia with his band to join with 15,000 young people at the Festival.
